when you hold self with the respect you deserve others will follow...you gotta take the first step into self.... If dating (of any kind) would be the cause of "severe mental depression", I would hate to think what a REAL problem would do to some.

I would guess that it would be more of insecurities/low self-esteem/co-dependency.than dating/being alone.

Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc.

Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing...

I really believe it can if it is an only source of meeting people.

As one poster mentioned, if there is large amounts of rejections, that could damage a person's ego and realy crush them long term.
